Start by preheating your oven to the temperature listed on your brownie mix box. Spray a 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large bowl, prepare your brownie batter according to the instructions on the box. You can use whatever mix you prefer, but if you're using a 9x13 pan, just make sure the instructions include baking times for a 9x13 pan.
Gently fold in most of the chopped Oreos and M&Ms, but save a decent amount to sprinkle on top later for a fun, festive pop.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or for about ¾ of the time your box mix tells you to. For me, it said 24 minutes, so that was around 18 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the reserved Oreos and M&Ms into the top of the brownies.
Put your brownies back in the oven to finish baking. You know they're done when you stick in a toothpick in the middle and it comes out with a couple crumbs (but not dripping in raw batter).
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. For the cleanest slices, chill the brownies in the fridge for about 30 minutes before cutting.
